INTRODUCTION TO MEDITATION, PT 2 (Wednesday, July 24 @ 3:00 p.m.)
Feeling stressed? Looking to try something new? Come to the library for an introduction on how meditation and mindfulness can help you feel calmer and happier. Paul Norton is a retired pediatrician and practicing Mahayana Buddhist with over 30 years of experience in meditation. He has taught meditation in a variety of settings, including civic and church groups, as well as prison outreach. Dr. Norton will be here on Wednesday, June 26 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., and will present a follow up session on Wednesday, July 24 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. You are welcome to attend one or both sessions. The Germantown Community Library is participating in our first Battle of the Books competition. Open to students ages 11 – 18. Individuals and their teams (up to 5 members) read and compete in their knowledge of characters, plots, settings, and events in the books.
