Friends Book Sale

2018 Friends Spring Book Sale 

We generally have over 10,000 gently used books in dozens of categories for sale at our Book Sale. We also sell audio-visual materials as well as unique donations from the community such as comic books, stamps, and records.

Wednesday, March 20 @ 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. (Friends members only*)
Thursday, March 21 @ 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday, March 22 @ 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 23 @ 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 24 @ 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. ($5 bag sale)

We welcome donations of books and materials from the community!

*Friends members, volunteers and GCL staff may attend the social and preview night on March 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Those who join the Friends group on Wednesday evening for a membership fee starting at $10 will be able to purchase up to 20 books that evening.

Mourning Dayze & Art Contest Presentation*

Wisconsin Garage Band Mourning Dayze Presentation @ 7:00 p.m.

Did you grow up listening to Rock ‘n Roll?  Ever wonder what it’s like to play in a Band?

Rick Pfeifer and bandmates will share the band’s story, depicted in their new book, Mourning Dayze: A Wisconsin Garage Band Rockin’ Since 1965. The book includes a 2-1/2 hour DVD and will be available to purchase and have autographed for $20.

Deadline for Art Contest

Event Category: Friends of the Germantown Community Library

Target Audience: Adults 18+ & Students Grades 6-12

Must be a non-professional Washington County artist 18 years or older earning less than 50% income from art. Submit original, two-dimensional artwork in any medium. Look for entry brochures at all Washington County libraries or download copies here:

Registration Deadline: Saturday, September 22, 2017
Awards Presentation: Wednesday, October 10, 2017 @ 7:00 p.m.
