    Classical Music Conversations

    Join retired music teacher and classical music enthusiast Ralph Simoneau for lively discussions of classical music composers and their music.  Listen to sonatas, symphonies, concertos, canons, and more with a whole new appreciation.  We will listen to classical music and enjoy refreshments for an hour.

    Learn to play the recorder!  Each week we will working on beginning to read music, practice short songs, and complete music activities.  No prior experience needed and all supplies will be provided.  We will conclude the program with a short concert on Tuesday, June 26 at 3:30 p.m.  Registration required.  Call the library at 262-253-7760 or visit the Youth Services Desk to sign-up.

    Music of the Vietnam Era

    A tribute to Vietnam veterans, master singing impressionist Dave Ehlert will perform songs of the times that gave military service members an escape from the reality of Vietnam. Songs include “Run Through the Jungle,” “We Gotta Get Outta This Place,” “Purple Haze” and more. A dramatic multimedia production, entertaining and educational. Don’t miss it!

    The Mystery/Thriller Book Group generally meets the 4th Thursday of each month from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. in the library’s large meeting room.  Join us for some interesting reading and lively conversation.  No registration is required. All are welcome!  Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate provided by the Friends of the Germantown Community Library!

    Copies of the selected books are available at the Circulation Desk. Please bring your library card to check out a copy.

    Target Audience: Children Ages 3+ with parent/caregiver

    Join the Germantown Community Library on a field trip!   Bookworm Gardens is a botanical garden in Sheboygan, WI based on children’s literature.  Visit over 65 different gardens as you play, explore, experience children’s books firsthand such as Charlotte’s Web, Hansel and Gretel, Where the Wild Things Are, and Dr. Seuss.  Most paths are accessible by wheelchair and stroller.  Please bring a bag lunch that can be enjoyed in the picnic area.  Ages 3 & up with Parent or Caregiver can ride the bus by registering with Germantown Park & Rec ($5/Resident or $6/Non-Resident).  The bus will leave Village Hall at 9:00 a.m.  Parent or caregivers with children ages 2 & younger are welcome to meet us there – entry is free, but a suggested donation of $5 is appreciated to Storybook Gardens.
