    WORLD WAR I TRAVELING EXHIBIT

    Over 122,000 Wisconsin men and women served on land, sea, and in the air during World War I.  The traveling exhibit World War I Beyond the Trenches: Stories from the Front will be on display at the Germantown Community Library from Thursday, May 30 - Friday, June 14.  This exhibit from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum includes 16 banners and details first person accounts of individuals in Wisconsin that played a role in shaping global history.

Come to the library for an introduction on how meditation and mindfulness can help you feel calmer and happier.  Paul Norton is a retired pediatrician and practicing Mahayana Buddhist with over 30 years of experience in meditation.  He has taught meditation in a variety of settings, including civic and church groups, as well as prison outreach.  Dr. Norton will be here on Wednesday, June 26 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m., and will present a follow up session on Wednesday, July 24 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.  You are welcome to attend one or both sessions.  Registration recommended.  Please call or visit the library to sign-up.

    2019 is the 50th Anniversary of the First Moon Landing.  Hear the story of how humans first journeyed to another world and what they discovered there.  John Heasley is an enthusiastic amateur astronomer and English teacher and was trained as a Space Educator through a number of institutions including the NASA Nightsky Network.  Question & answer session and reception to follow.
