PRINCESSES ON THE PATIO (Saturday. September 14 @ 10:30 – 11:15 a.m.)

Join us from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. for stories, bubbles, chalk, and meet & greet with Disney princesses on the library’s outdoor patio from Dare to Dream Theatre.  We will have 2-3 different princesses on each day. In case of inclement weather program will be held in the storytime room. This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Germantown Community Library.


EARLY LITERACY PARTY (Saturday, September 21 @ 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

You are invited to a party celebrating talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing with characters from Paw Patrol!  Learn about our early literacy programs and participate in crafts, sensory stations and activities. A special storytime will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Community Room.  Activities are geared for ages 0-7, but all ages are welcome.


FAMILY FRONTIER DAY @ PIONEER VILLAGE (Saturday, September 28 @ 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)

Join Monarch libraries for a day at Pioneer Village in Saukville, WI!  This fun-filled event, held rain or shine, is FREE and for all ages. Family Frontier Day @ Pioneer Village offers many indoor and outdoor activities such as period craft demonstrations, exploring buildings dating from the 1840s, pioneer games, storytime, and a scavenger hunt.  Located at: Ozaukee County Pioneer Village 4880 Cty Rd I (Saukville, WI). Lunch will be available for purchase from the Ozaukee County Historical Society. Menu includes a hot dog, soda, water, and a cookie for $5.00.


FUN WITH FROGS, TURTLES & SNAKES WITH DAVID STOKES (Saturday, October 12 @ 10:30 a.m.)

Learn about the “cold ones” through songs, stories, movement and more with educator David Stokes.  He will be bringing some special guest with him as well – live animals! This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Germantown Community Library.


GERMAN STORYTIME (Thursday, October 17 @ 10:30 a.m.)

Celebrate Oktoberfest and our new German children’s collection at the library!!  We will be reading some German stories in English and a few classic picture books in German.  There will also be German-related activities, crafts & treats!


FAMILY HALLOWEEN PARTY (Saturday, October 26 @ 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)

Join us at the library for some Halloween fun.  We will have a family-friendly maze in the Youth Services Area, sensory stations, crafts, treats & more!  Costumes encouraged! All ages welcome!


DINOSAUR ENCOUNTER (Saturday, November 2 @ 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.)

Learn all about dinosaurs and make some crafts with dinosaur hunter Janet Riehecky.  Janet will have over 40 fossils and museum quality replicas including teeth, claws, skulls, eggs, feet and dinosaur poop.  Some dinosaur friends may even stop by! This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Germantown Community Library.


FROZEN @ THE CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL (Saturday, November 16 @ 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

Visit the storytime room for Christmas and Frozen-themed crafts and activities during the Germantown Christmas Festival.  Frozen characters will also be available for photo-ops from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.


MOVIE: FROZEN (Wednesday, November 27 @ 10:00 a.m.)

Enjoy the original Frozen Disney film.  We have free popcorn, a few Frozen-themed crafts, and an appearance from a very special snowman!  This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Germantown Community Library.


LEGO ORNAMENTS & ORNAMENT MAKING WORKSHOP (Wednesday, November 27 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.)

Get ready for the holidays by making ornaments! Registration required? Geared for ages 5+ due to chocking hazard materials.


ALL ABOARD THE POLAR EXPRESS PARTY (Saturday, December 14 @ 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.)

Follow the train tracks through our library, play games, make crafts and eat treats all themed around the Polar Express. We will also have a drop-in storytime throughout the event and watch the movie!  This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Germantown Community Library.


MOVIE: SNOWDAY (Monday, December 23 @ 10:30 a.m.)

School is out for the next few weeks.  Enjoy the movie “Snowday” at the library.  We will also have free popcorn and a few winter-themed crafts available.  This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Germantown Community Library.


NOON YEAR’S EVE PARTY! (Monday, December 30 @ 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) 

We know that every year, many kids cannot stay awake until midnight to celebrate bringing in the new year, so we’re celebrating the end of 2019 early at a kid-friendly bash! Join us for crafts, games & dancing. At 11:59, we’ll ring in the lunch hour with balloons, noise and fun! All ages welcome!
