SUMMER READING PROGRAM (THEME: A UNIVERSE OF STORIES)
The Summer Reading Program is available for kids, teens and adults of all ages. Teens in grades 7 – 12 can enter to win gift certificated and other prizes every time they read or listen to a book this summer. Some examples include Target, Starbucks, Kwik Trip, Chipotle, Amazon, Cousins Subs, Pizza Ranch & Buffalo Wild Wings. Reading logs can be turned in Monday, June 10 through Saturday, August 17.
Learning a foreign language? New this year, logs now include reading children’s picture or chapter books in Spanish, German or another language! Spanish and German books are available for checkout in the Children’s Area.
CRAFTS FOR TEENS & GROWN-UPS (1:00 – 3:00 p.m. or 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.)
The library will be offering craft and activity workshop for adults and those ages 12+. Crafts vary in length of completion, but you are welcome to drop anytime during the time slots. Space is very limited. Registration is required and closes a week prior to each program. TEEN BOB ROSS NIGHT! (Thursday, July 18 @ 6:00 p.m.)
Join us for a night of painting happy little clouds and happy little trees with Bob Ross. All supplies will be provided. Geared for students in grades 7-12. Registration is required.
ROCK YOUR LOCKER TUESDAY (Tuesday, August 13 @ 6:00 p.m.)
Take your locker from drab to fab with locker bling, photo collages, magnets and more. Bring your own pictures, all other supplies will be provided. Geared for students in grades 6-12. Registration is required.
Interested in volunteering at the library this summer? We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with signing kids up for the summer reading program and assist with youth programs. Students should be going in to 8th grade or higher and able to committee to at least 2-3 hours per week with a consistent schedule. College students and adults are welcome to apply as well.
