Chill out with a great book for there’s snow better time to read! The winter reading program starts January 7 and runs through February 23. Chance to win some awesome prizes!  Sign-up at the Youth Services Desk for birth – 6th grade.

STORYTIME WITH AUTHOR MARY OUCHIE (Saturday, January 12 @ 10:30 a.m.)

Join local children’s book author and Germantown High School special education teacher, Mary Ouchie, for a special storytime.  Told in illustrations with art quilting, Mary’s two books focus on a young girl with Autism and a two brothers coping with a grandparent with Alzheimer’s disease.  Books available for purchase.

NO SCHOOL MOVIE @ THE LIBRARY (Friday, January 25 @ 1:30 p.m.)

No school and have the winter blues? Join us for a movie, hot cocoa bar and some popcorn! The library will be showing a new release film (TBD).

CHOCOLATE OLYMPICS (Saturday, February 9 @ 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.)

When you start with chocolate and add kids, timers, blindfolds, spoons and straws…you get a special kind of magic! All ages are welcome, but recommended for grades 2 and up.

 POUT POUT FISH THEATRE (Saturday, February 16 @ 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.)

Enter the colorful world under the sea and swim along with the Pout-Pout Fish and friends based on books by Deborah Diesen.  This interactive theatrical experience is best appropriate for ages 18 months to 6 years & their grown ups.  Doors open 30 minutes before each show for guests wishing to explore through activities in the Storytime Room.  Performances are free, but since seating is very limited, we guests will need to reserve tickets in advance through eventbrite or by contacting the library at (262) 253-7760.

STEAM OPEN HOUSE (Monday, February 18 @ 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.)

Join the library for a variety of science, technology, engineering, art and math activities.  Stop in for a few minutes or stay the whole time!  Activities recommended for ages 5-11, but all ages welcome.

ELEPHANT AND PIGGIE PARTY! (Saturday, March 2 @ 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

Let’s celebrate Mo Willem’s quirky characters while making crafts, listening to storytime and participating in lots of activities! You may even meet some very special guests. All ages are welcome.

PAINT YOUR OWN MINI PIGGY BANK (Tuesday, April 2 @ 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.)

Celebrate Money Smart Week at the library!  Kids can drop-in anytime to paint and decorate a piggy-bank.  We will also have money-related board games such as Monopoly, Payday, and Life to play.  Families will receive a free book (while supplies last).


Join the library for a full interactive movie experience of the classic 1939 Wizard of Oz. There will be activities, refreshments and more!
