EARLY LITERACY OPEN HOUSE (Saturday, September 22 @ 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

Come play and explore with a variety of sensory stations, a special storytime and learn about our early literacy programs 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten & Baby Lifelong Learners! No registration required. Geared for birth through age 7, but all ages are welcome to attend!


STORYTIME WITH RIVEREDGE NATURE CENTER (Saturday, Oct 6 @ 9:30 a.m.)

Join a Riveredge Naturalist as we gather and share an autumn themed story on the outdoor Children’s Patio.  Kids are invited to create a nature inspired craft before enjoying the Germantown Farmer’s Market with their family!  In case of inclement weather, event will be held in the Storytime Room.


KOHL’S WILD THEATER (Saturday, October 6 @ 10:30 a.m.)

Join us for “Wisconsin Wonderland” a 45 minute play performed by Kohl’s Wild Theater!


FAMILY FRONTIER DAY @ PIONEER VILLAGE (Saturday, October 20 @ 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)

Join Monarch libraries for a day at Pioneer Village in Saukville! This fun-filled event, held rain or shine, is FREE and for all ages. Family Frontier Day @ Pioneer Village offers many indoor and outdoor activities such as period craft demonstrations, exploring buildings dating from the 1840s, pioneer games, storytime, and a scavenger hunt. Located at: Ozaukee County Pioneer Village 4880 Cty Rd I (Saukville, WI 53080). Lunch will be available for purchase from the Ozaukee County Historical Society. Menu includes a hot dog, soda or water, and a cookie for $5.00.


MASKS STORYTIME & ACTIVITIES (Friday, October 26 @ 10:30 a.m.)

Join us for a special storytime with the red, green and blue Masks. We will read a few stories and work on a craft. All three Masks will be there so don’t forget your camera!


HALLOWEEN BOOOOOOK WALK (October 27 – October 31)

Take an interactive walk through a Halloween themed book, reading along the way! The Book Walk will be displayed from October 27-October 31. Drop on in!

Join us on Saturday, October 27 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. for the opening day of our Halloween Book Walk! We will have music, crafts, activities, sweet treats and more!


HOLIDAY CRAFTS FOR KIDS @ THE GERMANTOWN CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL (Saturday, November 10 @ 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

As part of the Germantown Christmas Festival, we will have a variety of holiday gifts and crafts in the Storytime Room for kids to make and take home.


HARRY POTTER/FANTASTIC BEASTS TRIVIA NIGHT! (Thursday, November 15 @ 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.)

Are you the ultimate Harry Potter fan? Are you excited for the next Fantastic Beasts movie?! Join us for our very first Harry Potter trivia night! We will challenge you with questions from both the books and the films. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams. Harry Potter or 1920’s themed costumes encouraged! Muggles of all ages are welcome to attend. *REGISTER A TEAM AND TEAM NAME BY CALLING THE LIBRARY’S YOUTH SERVICES DESK AT 262- 253-7760. Maximum of 6 people per team. Space is limited!


STORYTIME WITH THE MILWAUKEE BALLET (Friday, November 30 @ 10:30 a.m.)

Join us for a special storytime with the Milwaukee Ballet!  The dances will bring ballet books to life through interactive movement and teach ballet basics.  Perfect for preschool – 2nd grade, but all ages are welcome to attend.  Ballet attire encouraged!  Participants can also stay after for a showing of the movie Leap!


 GRINCH-MAS @ GERMANTOWN COMMUNITY LIBRARY (Saturday, December 15 @ 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)

Welcome to Whoville! We will be playing the 1966 classic version of Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (*The movie will be played many times throughout the party!) Play games, make crafts and eat treats all themed around the Grinch. All ages welcome!
