Here’s a healthy start to the New Year! Meet Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Southeast District Trail Coordinator, Melissa Cook, as she discusses recreation opportunities on state trails. Trails offer a pathway to a healthier life, a cleaner environment, and lower stress levels.  A real cabin fever reliever! The Amish People with Reynold R. Kremer (Wednesday, February 7 @ 6:00 p.m.)

Meet author Reynold R. Kremer as he discusses the history, beliefs, and traditions of Amish people.  Presentation begins at 6:00 p.m. with question/answer session and reception to follow. Copies of Reynold R. Kremer’s book, “Driving the Back Roads: The Amish… in the World but Not of It” will be  available for sale and autograph.


From a Birth of Freedom to a New Birth of Freedom with Kevin Wood (Thursday, March 1 @ 6:00 p.m.)

Meet Kevin Wood of Oak Park, IL as he portrays President Abraham Lincoln. Hear about our nation’s     twelve turbulent years from 1854-1865. Some of Mr. Lincoln’s best-known speeches and writings, including his “House Divided” speech, his First and Second Inaugural addresses, his        Gettysburg Address, and his Emancipation Proclamation will be included. Presentation begins at  6:00 p.m. with question/answer session and reception to follow.


Straw Bale Gardening with Joey and Holly Baird (Monday, April 2 @ 6:00 p.m.)

Calling all gardening enthusiasts! Meet Joey and Holly Baird, founders of The Wisconsin Vegetable  Gardener, as they share how to grow food in a different type of container- a straw bale! You will be inspired to try straw bale gardening this growing season. Presentation begins at 6:00 p.m. with /answer session and reception to follow.


The Kingdom of the Monarch Butterfly, pt. 1 with Shelly Culea (Tuesday, May 15 @ 6:00 p.m.)

Meet Monarch butterfly expert Shelly Culea as she discusses the epic annual migration of the Monarch butterfly. Learn how you can provide the Monarch butterfly’s perfect habitat in your yard and garden. Presentation begins at 6:00 p.m. with question/answer session and reception to follow.


Introduction to Metal Detecting with Keith Tabor (Tuesday, May 22 @ 6:30 p.m.)

Learn about the science and hobby of metal detecting, followed by a hands-on experience. Metal detecting allows you to become a scientist in the field as you hunt for coins or artifacts. A fun activity for all ages! Pre-registration preferred, but not required to attend this program.
