Paint Your Own Mini Piggy Bank

Celebrate Money Smart Week at the library!  Kids can drop-in anytime to paint and decorate a piggy-bank.  We will also have money-related board games such as Monopoly, Payday, and Life to play.  Families will receive a free book (while supplies last).

Winter got you feeling blue?  Join us for a discussion of how nature interaction can help with emotional healing and spiritual growth.  Presenter Philip Chard is a psychotherapist with over 30 years experience, and an award-winning newspaper columnist for the Milwaukee Journal and book author.  Question & answer session and refreshments to follow.

Stop in for a variety of different crafts.  Crafters of all skill levels are welcome and all supplies are provided.  Crafts are geared towards ages 8 to adult, but we will also have kids coloring and crafts available.

Death and Mourning in the Victoria Era

What do parlor funerals, post-mortem death photographs, Victorian hair wreaths, public mourning and seances have in common?  They are all rituals of death that became popular between 1876 and 1915. Join retired funeral director Steve Person for a fascinating journey into death and mourning practices in the Victorian Era complete with lots of stories and props.
