    Interactive Drum Circle

    Join us for a drum circle with Tom Gill from Rhythm for Unity, where everyone plays a hand drum or other instrument. No experience required, only a willingness to try. We will play invented, in-the-moment music to amaze your ears and lift your spirits. Space is limited to 30 participants.     Target Audience: Adults with early stage dementia, mild memory loss or mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and a family member or care partner

    Held the 3rd Monday of each month @ 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. on a rotating basis with Menomonee Falls, Germantown, Brookfield, and Elm Grove libraries.

    First time attendees should contact the Alzheimer’s Association for more information or RSVP for the next Memory Café at 800-272-3900.

    Tablet Tuesdays is a monthly class covering various useful skills for using iPads hosted by one of our Washington County libraries each month.  Sign-up is required as space is limited.  Please call the library where each session is being held to sign up.

    Taking Care of You Workshop

    This research-based program offers practical strategies and experiences to help parents, caregivers, and community members deal with stress in their daily lives.  Join UW Extension Washington County in learning how to better manage life’s challenges in healthy ways to allow you to take better care of yourself, your overall health, and others in your care.  Call the library at (262) 253-7760 or stop by the Adult Reference Desk to register for this free workshop.  Participants can attend either or both days.

    Memory Screening

    Target Audience: Adults

    3rd Wednesday on select months @ 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

    A memory screen is a wellness tool that helps identify possible changes in memory and cognition.  It creates a baseline of where a person is at so that future changes can be monitored.  It’s free and only takes 10 minutes.

    Memory screenings are available through the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Washington County to anyone and can be scheduled by calling Tammy Dickman at 262-335-4497.

    Family Frontier Day @ Pioneer Village

    Join Monarch libraries for a day at Pioneer Village in Saukville! This fun-filled event, held rain or shine, is FREE and for all ages. Family Frontier Day @ Pioneer Village offers many indoor and outdoor activities such as period craft demonstrations, exploring buildings dating from the 1840s, pioneer games, storytime, and a scavenger hunt. Located at: Ozaukee County Pioneer Village 4880 Cty Rd I (Saukville, WI 53080). Lunch will be available for purchase from the Ozaukee County Historical Society. Menu includes a hot dog, soda or water, and a cookie for $5.00.
