    Creative Play Dates

    Join Dare to Dream Theatre in this workshop designed to engage toddlers through creative play.  Activities include exploring elements of early literacy, creating artwork, meeting characters, and storytelling.  For kids 18 months to 5 years.

    History Buff Book Group

    The History Buff Book Group meets the 3rd Friday of each month from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the library’s large meeting room.  Join us for some interesting reading and lively conversation.  No registration is required. All are welcome!  Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate provided by the Friends of the Germantown Community Library!

    Rummage Sale

    The MOMS Club Germantown-West will be hosting a Community Rummage Sale and Bake Sale in the Community Room.  We will also have kid’s crafts available in the storytime room.  All funds raised at the Community Rummage Sale will go towards benefiting the Children’s Area in the library.

    Memory Cafe

    Event Category: Aging & Dementia

    Target Audience: Adults with early stage dementia, mild memory loss or mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and a family member or care partner

    Join Washington County Master Gardener Lora Schrieiber as we learn about gardening, share our favorite experiences and make our own teacup gardens.  We will also have some delicious treats made from vegetables such as carrot cake and zucchini bread.

    A Memory Café is a social gathering for those who are experiencing early stage dementia, mild memory loss or mild cognitive impairment, and a family member or care partner. The Café is a place to have fun, find support, and share experiences.  Visit www.libraryproject.org to learn more.  Registration required.  Please contact Wendy Betley of the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-272-3900.  Additional Memory Cafes will be held on the 3rd Monday of every month, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. at libraries in Elm Grove, Brookfield & Menomonee Falls.

    The library will be hosting technical support consultations from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.  Please register by stopping by the Reference Desk calling the library at (262) 253-7760 or emailing William at wkressin@germantownlibrarywi.org.  Make sure to include the topic of your question so we can be prepared with instructions.  Can’t make the scheduled times?  Let us know and we can work to find a time that meets your scheduling needs.

    Some examples of questions include using library databases, downloading eBooks or eAudiobooks through Overdrive/Libby or RB Digital, using a tablet, setting up an email account, research assistance, genealogy research, signing up for Gale Courses, and printing.
